The KRAL OMP flow meter has been specifically developed for fuel consumption measurement in marine applications (MDO, MGO, HFO) and in modules such as booster modules and burners. It combines durability with very high accuracy using the positive displacement principle. The meter is made of nitrided steel and is DNV certified.

The KRAL screw spindle easily handles rapid, short fluctuations in flow caused by pulsations. The meter offers a low pressure drop within the fuel system. For applications in HFO systems, versions are available that can measure at temperatures up to 200°C. The OMP meter is very solid and, thanks to its compact design, easy to integrate into piping systems. No straight pipe sections are required before or after the meter.
KRAL offers various adapters for the OMP series to replace existing meters from other brands without the need for piping modifications.

This is the most prominent area of application. The OMP is specifically designed for measuring the consumption of various types of marine fuels:
Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO): These are high-viscosity fuels for which the robustness and high temperature resistance (up to +200°C) of the OMP are essential.
Marine Diesel Oil (MDO) and Marine Gas Oil (MGO): Accurate measurement is crucial for efficiency, fuel savings, and monitoring CO2 emissions.
Application in Modules: The meters are often installed in booster modules or burner/boiler systems.
The accuracy and robustness make the OMP suitable for measuring various oils in industrial processes:
Oil Measurement: Used for measuring lubricating oil or hydraulic oil.
Transfer/Dosing: The meter is used in the transfer and dosing of various hydrocarbons and oils, where reliable volumetric measurement under varying viscosities and temperatures is necessary.
Thanks to its extremely high accuracy and repeatability, the OMP is used in environments where precision is critical:
Engine Test Benches: For the exact determination of fuel consumption in diesel engines under various load and operating conditions.
Calibration: Used for the verification and calibration of other dosing and measurement systems.
The meter is widely applicable for the accurate flow measurement of clean, non-aggressive, lubricating liquids in harsh industrial environments:
Mechanical Engineering and Plastics Production: For the dosing and measurement of liquids with low to high viscosity.
Chemical Industry: For chemical dosing, although other KRAL series (such as OMS or OMG) are often used for highly aggressive media. The OMP is designed for chemically neutral, lubricating liquids.
